Description For SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) Support Engineer

Gigster is seeking SRE Support Engineers to join their team and provide support to clients. The role involves working on cutting-edge projects with the world's best developers, building solutions that make a difference. Key responsibilities include supporting highly scalable applications and web services, troubleshooting container orchestration/management issues, resolving complex application deployment problems, and working cross-functionally with customers and partners.

Ideal candidates should have:

  • Robust spoken and written English skills
  • 5+ years of experience supporting highly scalable applications and web services
  • Experience with AWS (mandatory) and Google Cloud (nice to have)
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Spark, and Kafka
  • Deep understanding of Linux administration and scripting
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work as an independent contractor for a US company

Responsibilities For SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) Support Engineer

  • Work cross-functionally with customers and partners to address complex customer questions and drive incidents to resolution
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve container orchestration/management issues, specifically Docker and Kubernetes
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve complex application deployment issues
  • Analyze and categorize customer interaction trends
  • Build knowledge base articles
  • Participate in post-mortem reviews and drive ongoing improvement
  • Make meaningful contributions to client's development objectives and goals
  • Work on complex issues, analyzing situations or data that require in-depth evaluation

Requirements For SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) Support Engineer

Kubernetes

  • Robust level of spoken and written English
  • Several years of experience (ideally 5 or more) in supporting highly scalable applications and web services
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies (AWS mandatory, Google Cloud - nice to have)
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Spark, and Kafka
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Linux administration, scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Understanding of network protocols, DNS, load balancing, and related technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical capabilities
  • Ability to work as an independent contractor for a US company
