GoCardless is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for a 6-month Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave. The role is within the Product Growth team, focusing on driving user acquisition, activation, revenue, and retention through the product itself. You'll work on business problems directly impacting company growth and revenue, contributing to various codebases across the whole product.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving Product-led Growth initiatives
- Applying an experimental approach to move projects from ideation to implementation
- Contributing to codebases responsible for the customer dashboard
- Working with technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, Postgres, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Platform
- Improving activation rates, converting payers into customers, and driving growth through partner integrations
- Owning and developing the growth tech stack, including user tracking, product analytics, and A/B testing tools
- Supporting other teams in adopting an experimentation approach
The ideal candidate should have:
- Professional experience in coding, particularly with Ruby (80%) and TypeScript/JavaScript/React (20%)
- A commitment to building reliable, well-tested systems
- Enthusiasm for working in a culture of experimentation, testing, and code review
- Excitement about supporting and growing a group of engineers
- Effective communication skills, especially for technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A collaborative mindset for cross-functional work
