Google is seeking a Developer Relations Engineer for Android and Play, Games in London, UK. This mid-level role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 3 years of technical experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in game development, performance analysis, and community engagement.

As a Developer Relations Engineer, you'll collaborate with developers, attend conferences, and lead strategic programs. You'll work with game developers, Android OEMs, and game engines in EMEA to support product integrations on flagship Android devices. Your responsibilities include facilitating workshops, resolving technical problems, and optimizing gaming experiences at scale.

Key qualifications include:

  • Experience in technical leadership and developer community engagement
  • Expertise in game performance analysis and optimization
  • Knowledge of low-level graphics/GPU coding (DirectX12, Vulkan, Metal)
  • Familiarity with Android tooling (Renderdoc, Perfetto, Frame Pacing API, etc.)
  • Strong game development skills using C/C++/C#

Responsibilities For Developer Relations Engineer, Android and Play, Games

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage product engagement and identify user needs
  • Attend or facilitate conferences and events to gain and share insights on user experience and technologies
  • Lead strategic developer programs and act as an authority in the domain
  • Work with game developers, Android Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and game engines in EMEA to support exciting new product integrations on flagship Android devices
  • Drive regular engineering focused workshops and meetings with developers to optimize the gaming experience and resolve complex technical problems at a scale for users

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience
  • Experience with game performance analysis and optimization
  • Experience in technical leadership, technical consulting or working with partners/customers/developers community
  • Experience in low-level graphics/GPU coding with DirectX12, Vulkan or Metal
  • Experience with Android tooling such as Renderdoc, Perfetto, Frame Pacing API, SurfaceFlinger, GFXReconstruct and Android GPU Inspector
  • Excellent game development skills using C/C++/C#
