Google, a world-leading ML/AI company, is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to join their Core ML team. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for shaping the future of Google's AI infrastructure and platforms.
The Core ML team is at the heart of Google's AI initiatives, developing and maintaining critical systems like TensorFlow, JAX, and TPU hardware. They are responsible for the AI framework that powers Google's research and AI-enabled products, as well as the deployment of large language models like Gemini from research to production.
As Distinguished Engineer, you will lead the technical direction and roadmap for major pillars of Core ML. The role involves working closely with partners and customers across Google to understand their ML needs and translate them into concrete platform requirements. You'll collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and other technical leaders to drive changes in existing products and specify new solutions where gaps are identified.
The position requires deep technical expertise in ML systems and software engineering, combined with strong leadership skills to influence technical decisions across the company. You'll be responsible for developing technical leads, reviewing designs, participating in technical discussions, and ensuring high-quality engineering investments.
