Description For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety

Trust & Safety team members at Google are responsible for identifying and addressing major challenges to the safety and integrity of Google products. They utilize technical expertise, problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and partners from abuse across various Google products such as Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads.

In this role as an Engineering Analyst in Trust and Safety, you will:

  1. Work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and combat abuse and fraud cases quickly and urgently.
  2. Collaborate with Program Managers, Software Engineers, Machine Learning/Anti-Abuse and Security Engineers, Policy, Sales, and Review teams to devise strategies.
  3. Develop data-driven insights to improve review operations, identify new trends in foundational fraud abuse, and automate processes and enforcement.
  4. Contribute to feature engineering and signal development for machine learning model improvements.
  5. Engage in reverse engineering and develop intelligence on threat actors to stay ahead of adversaries.
  6. Work on building a new AI-based capability using transformers-based detection systems to evolve and automate incident response while generating relevant threat intelligence to protect Google accounts.
  7. Respond to severe incidents and complex campaigns targeting Google accounts (e.g., creation and hijacking).
  8. Provide support and training to the team in Hyderabad.
  9. Design, develop, and maintain reliable data-processing infrastructure, metrics, and dashboards.

The Trust & Safety team at Google is diverse, comprising Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers. They work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google's products, protecting users, advertisers, and publishers globally in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety

  • Contribute to building a new AI-based capability leveraging transformers-based detection system to evolve and automate incident response, while generating threat intelligence to protect Google accounts
  • Respond to severe incidents and complex campaigns targeting Google accounts (e.g., creation and hijacking)
  • Provide support (e.g., answering questions, training) to the team in Hyderabad
  • Design, develop, and maintain reliable data-processing infrastructure, metrics, and dashboards

Requirements For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • 2 years of experience with one or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python, or C++ (preferred)
  • 1 year of experience with machine learning systems (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (preferred)
