Google's Technical Infrastructure team is seeking a Hardware Performance Test Engineer to join their Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team. This role is crucial in supporting hardware design, test, and qualification engineers responsible for prototype bring-up, validation, qualification, and failure analysis of server-related technologies. The position offers a competitive salary range of $142,000-$211,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

As a Hardware Performance Test Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of hardware and software, developing automation scripts, managing lab infrastructure, and ensuring smooth operations for R&D labs. The role requires expertise in Linux, Python scripting, and hardware evaluation methodologies. You'll be responsible for developing test automation frameworks, managing lab resources, and coordinating between Hardware Engineering teams and lab teams.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 4 years of experience in a hardware development lab environment. Responsibilities For Hardware Performance Test Engineer, Platforms Infrastructure Engineering

  • Support various hardware prototype bring up and qualification testing activities by developing Python automation test script
  • Design robust network, power, and cooling infrastructure for high and medium touched labs with remote control functionality
  • Drive development of software and infrastructure required for managing a fleet of test systems at scale
  • Provide integrated software to synchronize test execution on Device-under-Test (DUT) with external smart measurement instrumentation
  • Support a team of hardware designers, qualification and test engineers, on project planning within hardware development labs
