Description For Program Manager II, Trust and Safety, Global Affairs

Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking a Program Manager II to lead strategic and operational initiatives in making the internet safer. This role involves managing cross-functional projects to fight abuse across Google's products, including malware, spam, and account hijacking. The position requires strong technical judgment, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

As a Program Manager in Trust and Safety, you'll be responsible for driving critical projects from conception to completion. You'll work with diverse teams including Engineers, Analysts, Policy Specialists, and other Program Managers to deliver bold solutions in various abuse areas. The role demands expertise in project management, data analytics, process design, and problem-solving.

The position offers competitive compensation including a base salary range of $117,000-$172,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. You'll be part of Google's mission to protect users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe, working in a dynamic environment that serves over 40 languages.

Key responsibilities include identifying and prioritizing partner-focused initiatives, facilitating cross-functional coordination, and managing complex project lifecycles. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of program management experience, strong analytical capabilities, and familiarity with trust and safety concepts.

Responsibilities For Program Manager II, Trust and Safety, Global Affairs

  • Identify key issues across our landscape focused on partners, leveraging your influential skills to scope, prioritize, and resource initiatives
  • Use technical judgment and operational experience to drive project outcomes, build consensus, remove roadblocks, and resolve conflicts
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination across projects, manage workstream dependencies, and the impact on downstream working groups
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product, cross-product areas, Legal, Partnerships, Support, Operations, and leadership to ensure adoption of product area strategic pillars
  • Assist in driving projects through the entire project lifecycle with your stakeholders, including defining project goals, development of comprehensive cross-functional project plans, track accomplishments/milestones/key issues/change control, clearly communicate status, risks and remediation plans to executive stakeholders

Requirements For Program Manager II, Trust and Safety, Global Affairs

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience in internal stakeholder management
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects (preferred)
  • Experience in trust and safety (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Google products, types of online abuse, and policy development/strategies (preferred)
  • Solid analytical, quantitative, and statistical problem solving skills (preferred)
