Google is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Network Infrastructure team in New York. This role sits at the intersection of security engineering and infrastructure protection, focusing on building and maintaining robust security systems at scale.

The position offers a competitive base salary range of $118,000-$170,000 plus additional benefits including bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits package. This is an early-career role requiring at least 1 year of relevant experience in security assessments and coding.

As a Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating and hardening infrastructure designs, ensuring systems are resilient against attacks, and contributing to Google's overall security posture. You'll work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with teams across Alphabet to implement security controls and improvements.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with knowledge of security principles and experience in enterprise security engineering. Responsibilities For Security Engineer, Network Infrastructure

  • Create, assess, and harden infrastructure designs, systems, and access policy enforcement points across all levels of the stack with a focus on lower layers
  • Ensure the infrastructure is resilient against attacks and abuse
  • Make technical, process, and project contributions to identifying risks, improving the security posture, and enabling scalable management of security controls for Alphabet's use
  • Write feature requests and influence security improvements in the products to enable secure enterprise use at scale
  • Consult on topics of network and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure, authentication, authorization, access control, and risk

Requirements For Security Engineer, Network Infrastructure

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
  • 1 year of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
  • Experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols
