Description For Senior Firmware Engineer, Power Optimization, Pixel

Google is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer for Power Optimization on the Pixel team. This role focuses on developing and supporting software solutions and tools for Pixel power management and power optimization. The Google Pixel team is dedicated to designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience, working on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics.

As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and support of innovative power control in Linux and firmware for Pixel devices. Your responsibilities include analyzing system architecture to optimize power consumption across hardware and software components, managing power, latency, and system stability, as well as troubleshooting and resolving power-related issues. You will also create and maintain test suites to detect power regression and system stability during state transitions.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in embedded systems, with at least 7 years of experience in software development using C/C++. Experience in power management of embedded mobile devices is crucial for this role. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required, with a Master's or PhD being preferred.
