Description For Senior Software Engineer, Project Starline Calibration

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Project Starline Calibration Team, an innovative initiative that's revolutionizing how people connect remotely. Project Starline combines cutting-edge hardware and software to create a groundbreaking 3D communication experience that makes people feel like they're together, even when physically apart.

The role focuses on delivering camera geometric calibration solutions for Project Starline, working with a distributed system across Android, ChromeOS, and GCP platforms. You'll be responsible for developing complex solutions that integrate with imaging, camera, and product design teams, while implementing combined software and hardware deliverables.

As a senior engineer, you'll lead the design and implementation of sophisticated computer vision systems, applying expertise in multi-view camera geometry, camera intrinsic calibration, and non-linear optimization. The position requires strong technical skills in C++ programming and extensive experience with computer vision for 3D reconstruction and navigation.

The role offers competitive compensation ($166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits) and the opportunity to work with Google's world-class researchers and engineers in a fast-paced, product-oriented environment. You'll collaborate closely with Google Workspace and Research teams, directly impacting the future of communications technology.

This is an ideal position for someone passionate about combining theoretical computer vision knowledge with practical engineering solutions, who wants to work on technology that meaningfully improves how people connect and communicate.
