Description For Staff Data Scientist, Product, Ads Privacy and Safety

Google is seeking a Staff Data Scientist for their Ads Privacy and Safety Analytics and Insights team. This role focuses on developing unbiased frameworks to enable continuous measurement of business health and deliver impact assessments across risk, business, and user trust efforts. The ideal candidate will proactively counter threats and challenges by enabling precise measurement and ensuring that the right problems are addressed.

The position is part of Google Ads, which powers the open internet with technology connecting people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. The team builds advertising products for search, display, shopping, travel, and video, as well as analytics tools. They create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads, helping grow businesses of all sizes and enabling Google to engage with customers at scale.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting in-depth analyses of fraud vectors to inform mitigation strategies
  2. Utilizing advanced statistical techniques to identify emerging threats and risks

Requirements For Staff Data Scientist, Product, Ads Privacy and Safety

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7 years of experience in data science or machine learning
  • Experience in scripting (SQL, Python, or R) or statistical analysis (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, SAS) in a matrix organization
  • Experience with Machine Learning (ML) algorithms and statistical modeling
