Description For Systems Architect, Data Centers

As a Systems Architect for Google's Data Centers, you will play a crucial role in shaping the architecture that powers Google's vast product portfolio. You'll interface with stakeholders from data center operations, manufacturing, and supply chains to define Design for Operations requirements. Your expertise will influence new platform architectures through technical insights and trade-off analyses, working closely with Hardware Design and Software Architecture teams.

This role requires a blend of technical prowess and leadership skills. You'll be responsible for identifying and mitigating operational risks, crystallizing trade-offs between systems design and operational excellence, and overseeing the validation and execution of system design requirements from ideation to ramp. Your ability to align stakeholders across competing vectors through clear communication will be essential.

Responsibilities For Systems Architect, Data Centers

  • Identify operational risks of the system design to enable rapid deployment and minimize downtime during repairs
  • Mitigate the operational risks through collaboration with partners in Hardware, Software, and Tooling teams
  • Crystallize the tradeoffs between systems design and operational excellence to enable decisions, from the engineer level to the executive level
  • Oversee the validation and tactical execution of the system design requirements, from ideation to ramp
  • Align stakeholders across competing vectors through clear communication of updates, escalations, and achievements

Requirements For Systems Architect, Data Centers

Linux
Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 7 years of experience in System Architecture and Design for data center platforms
  • Experience with systems development and taking platforms from concept to production
  • Experience with hardware, software, and tooling
