Systems Development Engineering (SDE) at Google is a role where you manage services and systems at scale. As a Systems Development Engineer in Customer Training for Google Cloud, you will deliver training programs to customers enabling them to effectively utilize and operate the Google Distributed Cloud Hosted (GDCH) system. You will build knowledge in deploying and operating GDCH solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-quality training materials for various delivery formats
  • Delivering engaging and informative training sessions
  • Conducting "train-the-trainer" programs for Google partners
  • Collaborating with business and customer success teams to identify training needs
  • Staying up-to-date on product features and functionalities
  • Participating in customer, partner, and internal team activations
  • Contributing to 24x7 on-call rotation for support escalations

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 5 years of experience with systems automation and distributed environments, and expertise in TCP/IP and networking concepts. You must be able to obtain a Level 2 security clearance (SÜ2) under the German Classification Act (SÜG).

Responsibilities For Systems Development Engineer, Customer Training, Google Cloud

  • Develop high-quality training materials for various delivery formats
  • Deliver engaging and informative training sessions
  • Deliver 'train-the-trainer' programs to equip Google partners
  • Collaborate with business and customer success teams to identify customer training needs
  • Work with product managers, engineers, and other subject-matter experts to stay up-to-date on product features
  • Participate in Customer, Partner, and Internal team activations and training
  • Travel internationally up to 25% of the time as needed
  • Contribute in the 24x7 on-call rotation to support escalations

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience with systems automation, systems design and implementation, and working in production distributed environments
  • Experience in TCP/IP and networking concepts (e.g., PXE boot, Subnets, VLANs, Jumbo Frames, LACP, NIC Teaming, Unicast/Broadcast/Multicast, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, SSH, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 2 security clearance (SÜ2) under the German Classification Act (SÜG)
