Google is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to join their Corporate Operations Engineer team within the IT Support Technician group. This role is crucial in enabling the people and technology that keep Google running by providing front-line user support for internal tools and technologies. As part of the Platforms and Devices team, you'll work on Google's computing software platforms across desktop, mobile, and applications environments.

The position combines hands-on technical support with strategic project work, requiring both immediate problem-solving skills and long-term thinking. Responsibilities For Technical Operations Engineer, Silicon

  • Provide remote and technical support to engineers, including root cause analysis of IT issues on multiple technologies and platforms
  • Collaborate and partner with internal peers, external vendors, and other technical support teams
  • Develop, implement, and maintain scripts, tools, processes, and automated solutions
  • Own and manage IT projects focused on technical solutions and improvements
  • Analyze data to demonstrate the business impact and value of delivered technical projects and solutions

Requirements For Technical Operations Engineer, Silicon

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience in IT operations, troubleshooting Linux, technical support, customer engagement and networking
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (preferred)
  • Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) tools and infrastructure (preferred)
  • Understanding of customer workflows, pain points, and the design and implementation of technical solutions (preferred)
