As an AI Research Engineer in Computer Vision, you'll be part of a team developing cutting-edge AI capabilities for one of the most challenging sectors. Your role involves building computer vision models for object recognition, tracking, video understanding, and scene matching. You'll work on projects that require high generalization capabilities paired with hardware constraints and robustness against adversarial attacks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing state-of-the-art computer vision models and pipelines
- Designing experiments and conducting benchmarks to evaluate and improve model performance in real-world scenarios
- Adapting models to target hardware and constraints associated with downstream ML/AI tasks
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams on impactful projects
The ideal candidate should have:
- An MSc in computer science, machine learning, robotics, or a related field
- Experience in conceptualizing, implementing, and evaluating advanced AI-based systems
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and presenting research findings
- Passion for keeping up with current research and reimplementing/extending state-of-the-art Deep Learning approaches
- Solid software engineering skills in Python and/or languages like Rust, Java, or modern C++
- Experience in deploying AI software to production, including testing, QA, and monitoring
Additional desirable qualifications include:
- PhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or related field with publications in top-tier conferences
- Experience with object detection, categorization, tracking, scene understanding, and matching
- Experience developing AI methods on edge devices with limited compute resources
- Familiarity with simulators, emulators, or synthetic data generators
