Principal Engineer - Front-End Leaning Full Stack Developer

Homebound is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to join their engineering team. This role is for a Front-End leaning Full Stack Developer who will shape the technical direction of projects and lead a team of engineers. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in frontend architecture, design consistency, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Key responsibilities include:

• Architecting frontend systems using reusable component design patterns
• Collaborating with backend engineers to integrate APIs and GraphQL
• Guiding best practices for component architecture and performance optimization
• Driving architectural decisions and ensuring code quality
• Collaborating with Design to establish UI guidelines and visual language
• Developing and managing a component library using tools like Storybook
• Exploring latest trends in design system technology and frontend development

Requirements:

• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and modern web development
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and experience with design systems
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and communicate technical concepts
• Experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies
• 12+ years in software development, 4+ years in technical leadership roles

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with GraphQL and tools like Apollo Client or Relay
• Familiarity with backend technologies and cloud platforms like AWS
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
