This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the South African team of a UK-based Managed Service Provider (MSP). The position is for a Senior Support Engineer focusing on Microsoft cloud services, modern security products, networking, and storage. The role combines high-level technical support with mentoring responsibilities and project delivery.

The company is a Microsoft-centric business offering comprehensive IT services including technical support, systems management, project management, professional services, and technology sales. The ideal candidate will be an experienced technologist and team player who can handle complex support requests, mentor junior staff, and bridge the gap between Support and Engineering teams. Responsibilities For Senior Support Engineer (3rd Line), M365/Azure

  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for the support team
  • Track, log, and manage all client cases ensuring timely communication and resolution
  • Contribute to online knowledge base by authoring and peer-reviewing articles
  • Lead small-to-medium IT projects
  • Plan and recommend enhancements to improve helpdesk capacity and support processes
  • Act as an experienced mentor to colleagues in the support team
  • Stand in for the Support Team Leader when required
  • Participate in support team on-call arrangements including some weekends

Requirements For Senior Support Engineer (3rd Line), M365/Azure

Kubernetes
  • Minimum 5 years experience at 2nd line, preferably 3rd line support
  • Must be living in South Africa with right to work
  • Matric certificate (Grade 12)
  • Microsoft certifications: AZ-104, MS-900
  • Experience with networking (CCNA/AZ-700 level)
  • Knowledge of cyber security (ISC2 CC or Microsoft SC-200 level)
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
  • Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS)
  • Experience with firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Knowledge of MDM technologies (Intune, JamF)
  • Experience with server technologies (HP, Dell)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure services (Domain controllers, DHCP, DNS)
  • Experience with identity management (PIM & PAM)
  • Knowledge of business systems (Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, OneDrive)
