Description For Software Engineering Intern

At Intuit, our engineers are the lifeblood of our success and we work hard to ensure they are doing the greatest work of their lives. As a Software Engineer Intern in the Core Services and Experiences Team, you'll focus on modern web application design and development, working on industry-leading authentication methods including MFA via Biometric and password-less solutions. This role is crucial in enabling a frictionless user experience while maintaining security across Intuit products.

You'll be part of creating a world-class identity verification solution that supports Intuit's mission of powering prosperity around the world. This internship is specifically designed for students who will return to school after the summer internship in 2025, with a graduation date of Winter 2025 or later.

The position offers hands-on experience in:

  • Building and designing modern web applications using cutting-edge technologies
  • Working with authentication and security systems
  • Implementing and maintaining test coverage using modern UI testing frameworks
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and business units

You'll have the opportunity to work with technologies like React, Redux, Webpack, Jest, and Babel, and potentially gain exposure to cloud computing services (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and other modern development tools.

The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $35.50 to $55.50 per hour, varying based on education and location. You'll be joining a company that serves approximately 100 million customers worldwide through products like TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp.

Responsibilities For Software Engineering Intern

  • Designing and developing web apps, prototypes, or proofs of concepts
  • Ensuring code coverage is applied using latest UI testing frameworks and patterns
  • Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
  • Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results

Requirements For Software Engineering Intern

  • Working towards a Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science or a related technical field
  • Solid understanding of object oriented design and programming languages
  • Knowledge of front-end web design and modern JavaScript features such as ES6, ES7 & ES8
  • Strong design sense and ability to translate wire-frames, mockups and visual design assets
  • Understanding of Test-Driven Development with experience creating JavaScript-based test coverage
  • An understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to make decisions independently
  • Strong desire to learn and grow
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
