Description For Staff Systems Engineer

KIHOMAC is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join their Aerospace Electronics & Systems Division (AESD). This full-time, on-site position requires a highly experienced professional with a strong background in systems engineering, particularly in the defense and intelligence sectors.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the system engineering V-model, requirements development, and management, as well as experience with National Tactical Means systems and architectures. They will provide crucial support for Research & Development efforts, focusing on Intelligence operations for USINDOPACOM and USCENTCOM missions.

Key responsibilities include developing objectives, schedules, and risk assessments, presenting briefs to senior military and civilian leaders, and identifying core mission requirements. The role demands a deep understanding of DOD and IC intelligence systems, with experience in design, development, integration, and testing.

Responsibilities For Staff Systems Engineer

  • Demonstrate familiarity with system engineering V-model, requirements development, management and traceability, design, development, integration, validation, and verification
  • Display full understanding of National Tactical Means systems and architectures and understanding of technical systems, hardware and software and Defense Advance Research Project Agency initiatives
  • Provide operations and Intelligence support of Research & Development effort for Intelligence into United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) organizations and United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) missions, and area of operations
  • Develop objectives, schedules, risk assessments and architecture definition and compliance through the validations and guidance across various Project Management initiatives
  • Present briefs to a wide range of audiences to include senior military and civilian leaders
  • Identify core requirements mission areas and obtain access to national developed capabilities
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements For Staff Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, engineering science, physical science, or mathematical science discipline required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 12+ years of professional experience in the required task area
  • 7+ years of progressively complex experience in the design, development, integration, and testing of DOD or IC intelligence systems
  • 8+ years of experience in a systems engineering position working on DOD programs / projects
  • 2+ years of experience in a systems engineering management position leading a technical team working on DOD or IC programs / projects
  • Experience with review process (SRR, PDR, CDR) required
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required
