Description For Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Latitude AI (lat.ai) is an automated driving technology company developing a hands-free, eyes-off driver assist system for next-generation Ford vehicles at scale. As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup.

The Offboard Models team specializes in cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning technology, focusing on auto-labeling and data augmentation solutions for autonomy consumers including perception and mapping. The team develops multi-view, multi-sensor deep learning models for tasks such as 3D object detection, lane line detection, and scene segmentation. They also work on ML solutions for dynamic scene manipulation.

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on this team, you'll:

  • Develop multi-view, multi-sensor dynamic scene manipulation models
  • Read literature, analyze raw data, and design state-of-the-art solutions
  • Collaborate with perception experts and roboticists on algorithm design and implementation
  • Develop clean and efficient software for scene manipulation modules
  • Build and maintain industry-leading software practices

To succeed, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 4+ years of experience (or Master's with 2+ years, or PhD)
  • Expert-level knowledge in machine learning and deep learning
  • Experience in developing perception systems using various sensors
  • Experience with Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) and/or Gaussian Splatting
  • At least 4 years of development experience in Python/C++

Responsibilities For Senior Machine Learning Engineer

  • Develop multi-view, multi-sensor dynamic scene manipulation models for increasing data diversity
  • Read literature, analyze raw data, and design state-of-the-art solutions
  • Collaborate with perception experts and experienced roboticists on algorithm design, prototyping, testing, cloud deployment, and productization
  • Develop clean and efficient software for scene manipulation modules interfacing with consumer modules such as perception and resimulation
  • Build and maintain industry-leading software practices and principles
  • Show initiative and be a valued team member in a fast-paced, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment

Requirements For Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field and 4+ years of relevant experience (or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or PhD)
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience in machine learning, with a proven track record of developing and deploying deep learning solutions
  • Experience in developing perception systems using sensors such as Camera, Radar, and LiDAR
  • Experience in developing Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) and/or Gaussian Splatting based 3D scene reconstruction and manipulation systems
  • At least 4 years of development experience in Python/C++ environments
