Join the LEGO Group as a Senior Engineer, Batteries in their Creative Play Lab, where you'll be at the forefront of developing ground-breaking play experiences. This role, positioned within the Hardware Engineering group of the Play Engineering organization, offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative battery-powered systems for LEGO products.

As a senior individual contributor, you'll be responsible for the specification, integration, and validation of battery cells, packs, and management systems in complex mechatronic systems. Working with a global team across North America, Europe, and Asia, you'll ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe battery-powered designs for the toy market.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $113,015 - $169,523, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, family care leave, and wellness programs. The role follows a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office, based either in Boston, Massachusetts, or Billund, Denmark.

Responsibilities For Senior Engineer, Batteries

  • Serve as a senior individual contributor in specification, integration, and validation of battery systems
  • Partner with global suppliers and internal teams across North America, Europe, and Asia
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans for battery performance and safety
  • Support hardware design, quality engineering, and operations teams
  • Work with commodity management on emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Evaluate new battery technologies and assembly techniques

Requirements For Senior Engineer, Batteries

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field
  • Hands-on experience in battery development, testing, and qualification
  • Knowledge of global battery safety standards (IEC 62133-2, IEC 62368-1, etc)
  • Experience with battery performance tests and statistical analysis
  • Understanding of battery reliability and manufacturing processes
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to travel 15-30 days per year
