Description For ASIC Engineer Intern, On-Device Contextual AI on Orion and Next Gen AR Glasses

Meta's Reality Labs team is at the forefront of developing novel experiences for AR devices, including the Orion project and next-generation AR glasses. This internship position focuses on enabling on-device contextual AI within the challenging constraints of AR glasses, specifically in computer vision, audio interaction, and large language models. As an ASIC Engineer intern, you'll work on advancing state-of-the-art technology in these areas while gaining hands-on experience with embedded systems and hardware acceleration.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge AR technology and AI applications, combining hardware and software expertise to create innovative solutions. You'll be part of a team that was instrumental in developing multimodal Meta AI on Orion and is now pushing boundaries with next-generation AR glasses development.

Responsibilities For ASIC Engineer Intern, On-Device Contextual AI on Orion and Next Gen AR Glasses

  • Build and characterize experimental HW+SW systems on AR devices and device prototypes
  • Develop embedded firmware and software in RTOS and mobile operating systems, e.g. AOSP
  • Collaborate with other researchers and engineers across various disciplines
  • Communicate research agenda, progress, and results

Requirements For ASIC Engineer Intern, On-Device Contextual AI on Orion and Next Gen AR Glasses

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Programming and simulation experience with languages such as C/C++ and Python
  • Experience with computer architecture and HW/SW co-design and co-optimization
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire
