Micron Technology, a global leader in memory and storage solutions, is seeking a Staff Engineer specializing in ESD Device Modeling. This role combines advanced semiconductor engineering with critical device protection design. The position involves conducting sophisticated research in electrostatic discharge (ESD) and latch-up (LUP) protection, essential for ensuring product reliability and performance.

The role requires deep expertise in semiconductor physics and CMOS technology, with hands-on experience in ESD characterization and analysis. You'll be responsible for designing test structures, developing circuit models, and implementing protection solutions that safeguard Micron's cutting-edge memory products. The position involves working with state-of-the-art tools and equipment, including Cadence design tools and advanced testing equipment.

As a Staff Engineer, you'll lead technical reviews, manage validation processes, and collaborate with diverse teams worldwide. Responsibilities For Staff Engineer, ESD Device Modeling

  • Conduct ESD/LUP research and experiments
  • Design ESD test structures
  • Assess fundamental ESD properties through wafer level transmission line pulse measurements
  • Analyze ESD and latch-up test structure data
  • Develop and expand ESD and latch-up circuit models
  • Supervise full-chip ESD design review process
  • Apply Pathfinder type ESD verification
  • Manage first silicon ESD and latch-up design validation tests
  • Improve product design and reliability

Requirements For Staff Engineer, ESD Device Modeling

  • Strong knowledge of advanced semiconductor device physics
  • Understanding of CMOS process technology and electrical circuit analysis
  • Experience in Cadence design tools
  • Hands-on experience in ESD characterization analysis
  • Experience with waveform generators and testing equipment
  • Familiarity with ESD analysis tools
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • MS/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related discipline with 8+ years of experience (preferred)
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years experience OR MS with 2 years experience OR Ph.D. in related field
