Description For Network Engineer II

Microsoft Digital (MSD) is seeking a Network Engineer II to join their Infrastructure Engineering Services (IES) organization. This role is crucial in designing and deploying cutting-edge Wireless solutions across Microsoft's global facilities. The position offers a unique opportunity to create global impact, working with the latest technologies and Microsoft's industry-leading products.

As a Network Engineer II, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing secure Wireless networks, partnering with outsourced vendors, and developing automated solutions to streamline workflows. The role involves participating in a 7*12 on-call rotation and requires strong expertise in security technologies and service models related to Wireless networking.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $98,300 to $193,200 per year (higher in SF and NYC areas), along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, educational resources, and parental leave. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of technical experience in network design and automation, or equivalent education with relevant experience. Responsibilities For Network Engineer II

  • Create Wireless RF designs and associated Bill of Materials
  • Oversee and manage deployment vendor teams
  • Test and certify new Wireless platforms, products and code
  • Partner and share technical expertise with interdisciplinary teams
  • Foster continuous improvement culture through data-driven telemetry
  • Maintain availability, reliability, and performance of Wireless infrastructure
  • Resolve service issues and document solutions
  • Adhere to security and compliance standards

Requirements For Network Engineer II

Linux
  • 5+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years experience OR Master's Degree with 1+ year experience
  • 2+ years technical experience in design, deployment and management of enterprise scale Wireless networks
  • Experience developing code, scripts, automation systems with Ansible, YAML and Python
  • Experience with Wireless RF design and validation tools such as Ekahau and Hamina
  • Familiarity with HPE/Aruba Wireless networking products
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check
