Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Nerdery, a digital product consultancy, is seeking a Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead their Google Cloud Platform (GCP) initiatives. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, requiring 8+ years of cloud engineering experience and 5+ years in a principal-level position. As a principal engineer, you'll architect and implement complex cloud solutions, establish technical standards, and guide both internal teams and clients in their cloud journey.

The position demands extensive knowledge of GCP services, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions, along with expertise in Terraform and DevOps practices. You'll be responsible for designing secure, scalable infrastructure solutions while mentoring other engineers and contributing to Nerdery's technical strategy. The role involves significant client interaction, requiring exceptional communication skills to lead technical discoveries and present to executive audiences.
