onX is seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join their Backcountry team, focusing on feature development for the onX Backcountry application. As a pioneer in digital outdoor navigation, onX was founded in Montana and has inspired their mission to awaken the adventurer inside everyone. With over 300 employees located around the country working in largely remote/hybrid roles, onX has created regional "Basecamps" to help remote employees find connection and inspiration with other onXers.
The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of professional software development experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on API development. You'll be responsible for building scalable services, writing tests, participating in architectural decisions, and collaborating with team members. The role requires experience with distributed, scalable microservices architecture and a strong foundation in computer science.
