Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

Onyx is the open source generative AI platform connected to your company's docs, apps, and people. We ingest and sync from all sources of information (Google Drive, Slack, GitHub, Confluence, Salesforce, etc.) to provide a centralized place for users to ask about anything.

As our first Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be joining a rapidly growing startup that has already raised a $10M seed round backed by Khosla Ventures and First Round Capital. Our platform serves prestigious customers like Netflix, Ramp, and Applied Intuition, while our open source community includes Roku, Zendesk, and L3Harris.

Your role will be critical in driving adoption and ensuring customer success. You'll act as the primary technical advisor to our growing customer base, guiding them through deployments across different cloud platforms and deployment methods. You'll debug complex issues, improve documentation, and contribute features to streamline the setup process.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of enterprise AI adoption while working with cutting-edge technologies. You'll have direct impact on product direction by being the voice of the customer and bridging the gap between users and engineering.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud technologies, excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. Previous experience in deployment engineering, customer engineering, or DevOps roles is highly valued.
