Director of Software Development, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA)

Oracle is seeking a Director of Software Development for their Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) engineered system. This is a leadership role responsible for managing a world-wide development organization that delivers an integrated solution of software, compute, networking, and storage optimized for Oracle Databases and applications. The position involves overseeing the development of high-availability, performance-oriented systems used by thousands of small and medium businesses as well as enterprise customers.

The role requires leading a geographically distributed team across the U.S., Mexico, and India, focusing on delivering regular software releases that provide evolving functionality and the latest security updates. The director will be responsible for the complete lifecycle management of databases and underlying software infrastructure across various deployment options.

As a leader in this position, you'll need to combine technical expertise with strong management skills, working closely with multiple stakeholders including Database development, Linux development, hardware division, and product management teams. The role involves strategic planning, roadmap development, and ensuring cross-organizational dependencies are managed effectively.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, flexible vacation, parental leave, and stock purchase plans. The salary range is $122,500 to $291,800 per annum, with additional eligibility for bonus and equity compensation.
