Description For Senior Cloud Support Engineer

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Cloud Support Engineer to join their team building next-generation IaaS cloud services. This role combines system administration, incident command, customer support, and NOC engineering disciplines. As part of the Engineering organization, you'll act as the voice of the customer, influencing product features to improve customer experience. The position involves troubleshooting customer requests, managing incidents, and gatekeeping changes for dedicated regions. Working in a 24/7 shift rotation environment, you'll collaborate with multiple stakeholders including Service & Development, Incident Management, Operations, and Account Management teams. The ideal candidate should have 8-12 years of experience, strong cloud platform knowledge, and excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese. This role offers the opportunity to work with massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant environment, making a significant technical and business impact.

Responsibilities For Senior Cloud Support Engineer

  • Provides customer support and troubleshooting for complex Cloud/IaaS/PaaS/Database technical problems
  • Works directly with customers to resolve technical issues via support ticketing tools
  • Represents customer on highly sensitive and escalated issues and bridge calls
  • Consults with Customers on complex use of Oracle products
  • Creates and reviews Knowledge Articles and Runbooks
  • Analyses workload and implements changes to improve productivity
  • Participates in 24/7 shift rotation
  • Acts as Customer advocate ensuring the best customer experience

Requirements For Senior Cloud Support Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 8-12 years of total experience
  • Experience in cloud technical support and operations (OCI/AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Strong understanding of cloud concepts and platforms
  • Great verbal and written communication skills in Japanese (N2+) and English
  • Experience with Linux and system administration (preferred)
  • Client facing experience supporting enterprise customers
