Description For Senior Software Development Engineer (OCI)
We are the OCI Organizations-Management team. We own and operate a customer-facing service in the OCI console. Our service enables OCI customers to administer their hierarchies of tenancies, manage subscriptions across these tenancies, and securely configure these tenancies.
We're looking for a Senior Member of Technical Staff to help us build new features for our customers, operate our service and improve our engineering process.
As a member of the OCI Organizations-Management team, you will work with our product team and other engineering teams to define new features for our customers. You'll design those features and then write code to build + operate them. You will help operate our service, troubleshoot problems and generally support our customers. You'll provide technical and project leadership to other software engineers on our team.
You'll bring 3 - 5+ years of software engineering or related experience. You've built + operated cloud services. You have strong development experience with object-oriented programming, such as Java and infrastructure as code languages, such as Terraform. You demonstrate strong ownership, solid communication skills and a bias for action.
Flex/Hybrid schedule - onsite in Austin-TX, Broomfield-CO, Nashville-TN, Reston-VA.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Development Engineer (OCI)
- Define new features for customers in collaboration with product and engineering teams
- Design and implement features for the OCI Organizations-Management service
- Operate the service, troubleshoot problems, and support customers
- Provide technical and project leadership to other software engineers on the team
- Build secure services and infrastructure that are fundamentally sound and efficient
- Influence the design of the full system architecture
Requirements For Senior Software Development Engineer (OCI)
- 3 - 5+ years experience delivering and operating large cloud scale, highly available distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of C, C++ or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures
- Strong knowledge of databases, NoSQL, storage and distributed persistence technologies
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
- BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
