Description For Incident Management Engineer, New Grad

Palantir Technologies is seeking an Incident Management Engineer (IME) for their New Grad program. IMEs are crucial in maintaining stability across Palantir's products, ensuring 24/7 availability. They are the first responders when issues arise, responsible for triaging, troubleshooting, and coordinating resolutions.

The role involves working closely with engineering and business teams to minimize risks and evolve response strategies. IMEs are expected to be resourceful, creative, and agile problem solvers, capable of working both collaboratively and independently to resolve complex technical issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of Palantir's products and processes
  • Collaborating on scalable, reliable software development and deployment
  • Proactively preventing issues through telemetry and automation
  • Maintaining and improving production database operational capacity
  • Reducing operational overhead and making data-driven stability investments
  • Participating in on-call rotations for critical incident response

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment with dynamic objectives
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

Experience with Java, Go, web technologies, distributed computing systems, or cloud infrastructures is a plus.

The estimated salary range for this position is $82,000 - $115,000/year, with additional compensation possible through Restricted Stock units and other incentives.
