Senior AI Research Engineer

Perplexity is seeking an experienced Research Engineer to shape the future of large-scale language models (LLMs) that power our products. This role offers an opportunity to push AI boundaries and make a significant impact.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build large-scale data pipelines that feed billions of tokens into LLMs
• Scale and optimize LLM training infrastructure for maximum efficiency
• Ensure evaluation pipelines are accurate and reliable
• Enhance inference infrastructure to reduce costs and latency while maintaining 99.9% uptime
• Continually improve LLM performance and accuracy

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with large-scale LLMs and Deep Learning systems
• Strong programming skills; versatility is a plus
• Self-starter with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
• Passion for tackling challenging problems
• Minimum of 4 years of working on search-related projects

Nice-to-have:

• PhD in Machine Learning or related areas
• Experience building distributed systems
