Principal Machine Learning Engineer, Trust Engineering

Pinterest is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead the Trust Engineering team. This senior technical visionary will be responsible for setting the overall technical strategy, unified technical architecture, and defining a roadmap for industry-leading methodology in Trust and Safety.

The role requires a strong hands-on machine learning background, including expertise in deep learning architectures, low-resource ML (zero shot, few shot), responsible AI, and large-scale deployment and measurement. As the Principal Trust Tech Lead, you'll be responsible for the technical direction, strategy, and health of the Trust Engineering org.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing partnerships with product teams to address future technology needs and developer pain points
• Driving large-scale, cross-functional initiatives to improve platform trust and safety
• Representing engineering needs to leadership and prioritizing projects
• Scaling leadership through mentorship, best practices, processes, training, and tools
• Ensuring solid technical plans for Trust projects
• Acting as the technical point of contact for decisions impacting the whole Pinterest platform

The ideal candidate will have:

• Deep expertise in building large-scale ML systems with modern frameworks
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Trust and Safety
• A track record of delivering large, cross-functional projects
• Strong advocacy for Trust and Safety on social media
• Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Pinterest offers a progressive work model called PinFlex, providing a flexible approach to living and working. The position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area with a hybrid work arrangement.
