Description For Project Engineer II

PMA Consultants is seeking a Project Engineer II to provide technical and engineering support across multiple college projects within Los Angeles, CA. This role involves coordinating with a diverse team, including project managers, construction managers, contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, to ensure projects meet specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting College Project Teams (CPT) and coordinating with Program Management Office (PMO) staff
  • Participating in and occasionally leading design and construction meetings
  • Conducting field inspections to ensure project compliance
  • Assisting in preparing written materials and project status reports
  • Reviewing and processing construction change orders and field orders
  • Overseeing contractors and consultants, including invoice review and approval
  • Assessing and managing project risks
  • Facilitating resolutions of construction and design issues

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5-8 years of recent professional experience in project management or construction management
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions independently
  • Preferred experience with educational programs/projects, DSA projects, and large public works programs
  • Familiarity with Proliance or similar Project Management Information Systems (PMIS)
  • Professional credentials such as PE, CCM, or PMP are preferred
  • Advanced degrees like MBA or MS in business or engineering are a plus

Responsibilities For Project Engineer II

Requirements For Project Engineer II

  • 5-8 years of recent professional experience in project management or construction management roles
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions independently
  • Physical ability to stand or sit for long periods, lift up to 15 pounds, and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen
  • Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Computer and software skills
  • Ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form
