PMA Consultants is seeking a Project Engineer II to provide technical and engineering support across multiple college projects within Los Angeles, CA. This role involves coordinating with a diverse team, including project managers, construction managers, contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, to ensure projects meet specifications and standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting College Project Teams (CPT) and coordinating with Program Management Office (PMO) staff
- Participating in and occasionally leading design and construction meetings
- Conducting field inspections to ensure project compliance
- Assisting in preparing written materials and project status reports
- Reviewing and processing construction change orders and field orders
- Overseeing contractors and consultants, including invoice review and approval
- Assessing and managing project risks
- Facilitating resolutions of construction and design issues
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5-8 years of recent professional experience in project management or construction management
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions independently
- Preferred experience with educational programs/projects, DSA projects, and large public works programs
- Familiarity with Proliance or similar Project Management Information Systems (PMIS)
- Professional credentials such as PE, CCM, or PMP are preferred
- Advanced degrees like MBA or MS in business or engineering are a plus
