Description For Senior Staff Security Engineer

PPRO is seeking a Senior Staff Security Engineer to drive their mission of providing robust, secure, scalable, and resilient systems. This role offers the opportunity to showcase deep, all-round security skills combined with robust software engineering expertise. You'll solve complex technical problems related to security, compliance, and resilience, participating in decisions on architecture and technical direction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering strategic, cross-team security and compliance projects
  • Building consumable Security as Code artifacts and patterns
  • Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to embed security principles
  • Establishing company-wide security standards
  • Conducting threat modeling exercises
  • Providing expert advice on product and application security issues
  • Driving strategic security assessments and penetration testing

The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, highly collaborative, and pragmatic with expert experience in security architecture and application security. Strong expertise in cloud (preferably AWS and GCP) and container security (Kubernetes, Docker) is required, along with a deep understanding of DevSecOps and CI/CD security controls.

Responsibilities For Senior Staff Security Engineer

  • Design and deliver strategic, cross-team/cross-domain security and compliance projects, architectures and initiatives
  • Build consumable Security as Code artefacts and patterns
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure security principles are embedded into the software development lifecycle
  • Establish company-wide security standards and share best practices
  • Conduct threat modelling exercises to identify and mitigate potential security risks
  • Provide expert advice and support on product and application security issues
  • Drive strategic security assessments and penetration testing of applications
  • Identify emerging security threats and trends, and develop proactive measures
  • Evaluate and recommend the latest technologies to solve security problems
  • Drive innovation and efficiencies, providing thought leadership on emerging best practices

Requirements For Senior Staff Security Engineer

Kubernetes
  • Expert experience in security architecture and application/product security, with a strong background in software development
  • Experience designing and building scalable security controls, architecture and services
  • Strong expertise in cloud (preferably AWS, and GCP) and container security (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Deep understanding of designing and building DevSecOps and CI/CD security controls
  • Great problem solving abilities
  • Developer mindset and empathetic approach to find innovative 'win-win' solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and fluent proficient in English
