The Field Engineer - Instrumentation role at PXGEO is a challenging position that combines technical expertise with project management and operational support. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with vessel and equipment projects, providing technical support to vessels both on-site and remotely, and managing various engineering tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing engineering projects from initial requirements to test plans and technical reports
- Conducting third-party vessel technical inspections
- Promoting EHSQ practices and procedures
- Acting as temporary Instrumentation Chief when required
- Supporting environmental initiatives and considering green alternatives in purchasing decisions
- Providing coaching and mentoring to field-based personnel
- Performing EHSQ audits and producing monthly reports
The ideal candidate will have:
- A technical college qualification (minimum 4 years' study) in electronics, engineering, computing, geodetics, or geophysics (or equivalent experience)
- Detailed knowledge of marine seismic survey methods and technologies
- Strong communication skills for internal and external relations
- Ability to travel extensively and maintain necessary documentation
