Qualcomm is seeking a Staff Engineer for ML Test and Automation, focusing on testing ML/DL models to benchmark Qualcomm AI Accelerator. The position requires staying current with State of Art market trends and proactively working to understand customer needs to identify optimal tools and metrics for quality assurance.
The role involves working with cutting-edge AI technologies, including Large Language Models, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive testing strategies for AI inference accelerator cards, ensuring both performance and accuracy benchmarking of various deep learning models.
As a Lead Engineer, you'll be working at Qualcomm's Chennai location, contributing to the company's AI initiatives. The position requires a strong background in Python programming, machine learning, and test automation, with particular emphasis on embedded systems and IoT platforms. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining test infrastructure that enables engineering teams to deliver functional and performance metrics for language models.

Responsibilities For ML Software Developer in Test (SDET)—AI Inferencing - Lead Engineer
- Performance and Accuracy benchmarking of Deep Learning models (LLM, OD, CV, NLP, Transformers etc.)
- Understanding ML software ecosystem and developing QA approaches/frameworks
- Providing System test recommendations for AI Inference Accelerator Cards
- Development of validation strategies and creation of ML test harnesses
- Experience in bringing up embedded platforms for customers and internal engineering releases
- Strong debugging and analysis skills for root causing complex issues
- Providing test infrastructure for language models testing
- Ensure ML features are planned, validated, and automated as per requirements
- Strong hands-on automation skills for test framework feature integration
Requirements For ML Software Developer in Test (SDET)—AI Inferencing - Lead Engineer
- Masters or Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Machine learning/AI or related field experience
- 11+ years relevant work experience
- Strong knowledge in ML/DL/LLMs in Test
- Strong in Python programming and good problem solving skills
- Excellent programming skills in Python and Bash
- Hands-on experience in benchmarking and optimizing Deep Learning Models on AI Accelerators/GPUs
- Experience with AI frameworks models performance, quantization, and accuracy metrics
- Hands-on experience in API testing & developing automation scripts for Embedded/IOT Platforms
