Description For Software Engineer, Cryptography

Robinhood Markets is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Cryptography to join their team in either Bellevue, WA or Menlo Park, CA. This role is part of the Cryptography Team, which is responsible for building and maintaining critical cryptographic primitives and infrastructures that ensure the security and integrity of Robinhood's platform. The team focuses on developing robust, secure cryptographic solutions including Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), encryption, and secrets management systems.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of software development experience with a strong background in building large-scale distributed systems. Proficiency in Go or Python is required, along with expertise in cloud-native platforms and container orchestration technologies. Experience with cryptographic protocols and frameworks (TLS, PKI, JWT) is highly valued.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Cryptography team, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing scalable systems that maintain high security standards while supporting Robinhood's rapid growth. You'll collaborate across teams, mentor junior developers, and lead complex technical projects that directly impact the security of Robinhood's financial platform.
