Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is seeking an Engineer II to join their advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas. As one of the world's leading semiconductor facilities, SAS has been an integral part of Central Texas for over 26 years, with more than 5,100 employees and 2.45 million square feet of floor space.

The role involves working with cutting-edge semiconductor process technology, ranging from 65nm to advanced 14nm 3D FinFet technology. You'll be responsible for ensuring equipment and systems run effectively, monitoring and responding to failures, and maintaining quality standards. This position requires strong analytical skills for data gathering, trend monitoring, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate will have either a Master's degree with 1 year of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. Key responsibilities include test bench development, verification planning, defect monitoring, and equipment troubleshooting.

Responsibilities For Engineer II (Multiple Openings)

  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure equipment and systems are running effectively
  • Monitor and respond to failures, maintenance needs, and quality issues
  • Gather and input data into relevant SAS systems
  • Monitor trends and follow escalation plans
  • Perform troubleshooting and change point management tasks
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts
  • Support equipment and process matching projects
  • Investigate quality issues and improve process margins

Requirements For Engineer II (Multiple Openings)

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field with 12 months experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in related field with 36 months experience
  • Experience in monitoring and debugging test failures
  • Test bench development experience
  • Test/verification plan creation
  • Defect monitoring and root cause analysis
  • Equipment design review capabilities
  • Data analysis skills
  • Equipment troubleshooting experience
  • Training and documentation experience
