Description For Sales Engineer

Scality is seeking a Sales Engineer to serve as their customer-facing technical expert in the United Kingdom and Northern Europe. This role combines technical expertise with customer engagement, requiring the ability to architect solutions, conduct product demonstrations, and support business development efforts. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, primarily working from home with travel to London and Northern Europe. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of enterprise solution architecture experience, strong technical knowledge including Linux systems, and excellent communication skills to bridge customer needs with Scality's solutions. This role provides an opportunity to work with cutting-edge enterprise infrastructure solutions while collaborating with both sales teams and partners across the EMEA region. The position offers significant autonomy while being part of a global technical sales engineering community, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical challenges and customer interaction.

Responsibilities For Sales Engineer

  • Represent Scality in the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe markets as a pre-sales engineer
  • Technically qualify opportunities and determine compatibility between Scality products and prospects' requirements
  • Present product roadmaps and information to customers and partners
  • Coordinate proof-of-concepts and deliver product demonstrations
  • Architect solutions and select suitable third-party integrations
  • Collaborate with Partner Sales and Pre-Sales teams
  • Respond to RFI's and RFQ's and build proposals
  • Provide SCA training to partners in the region
  • Maintain deep understanding of Scality technology and vision
  • Communicate customer requirements to Product Management teams

Requirements For Sales Engineer

Linux
  • 5-10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure solutions architecture and/or sales engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise and/or channel selling and designing solutions
  • Experience in designing infrastructure solutions for specific industry verticals
  • Familiarity with common business tools (Salesforce, G Suite, Slack, Microsoft Office, GitHub, Jira, Zendesk)
  • Moderate Linux expertise and comfort in using the bash shell
  • Must have UK passport or appropriate work visa
  • Native English speaker, second language desirable
