Description For Looker Developer
ShyftLabs is seeking a seasoned Looker Developer with 5+ years of experience to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Looker Developer, you'll be responsible for transforming data into actionable insights for Fortune 500 companies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing LookML models, explores, dashboards, and workflows
- Acting as the customer-facing contact point between data engineering and business
- Implementing persistent derived tables, caching policies, and version control
- Building and maintaining Looker as the primary BI tool
- Optimizing query performance and influencing stakeholders on data integrity
- Creating and maintaining coding standards and performing code reviews
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience developing within Looker
- Excellent SQL skills and advanced proficiency in LookML
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience with Git and its interaction with the Looker platform
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of software development processes, experience with cloud data warehouses (particularly Snowflake), and background in retail, eCommerce, or fintech.

Responsibilities For Looker Developer
- Design and develop LookML models, explore, Dashboards, and workflows in the Looker platform
- Act as the customer-facing contact point between data engineering and the business
- Implement persistent derived tables, caching policies, version control, and assess code quality
- Build, maintain and administer Looker as a primary BI tool
- Investigate, improve and optimize query performance for improved user experience
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to design and adopt processes that elevate data integrity
- Build and lead impactful and KPI-centric relationships with cross-functional team members
- Help create and maintain coding standards and perform code reviews
- Assist with platform administration, including user and role maintenance, Git connectivity, etc.
Requirements For Looker Developer
- At least 5+ years of experience developing within Looker
- Excellent SQL skills and advanced proficiency in LookML
- High energy and action-oriented with a history of getting things done in complex, fast-moving environments
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent technical knowledge and experience
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
- Experience working on projects from feature definition to project deployment through the development lifecycle
- Experience informing and assisting peers and other business stakeholders on various business initiatives
- Knowledge of Git and its interaction with the Looker platform
