Description For IC Layout Engineer (Silicon Engineering)

SpaceX is seeking an IC Layout Engineer to join their Silicon Engineering team, focusing on developing integrated circuits for the Starlink satellite program. This role combines cutting-edge space technology with advanced silicon design, working on projects that directly impact the world's largest satellite constellation.

The position involves working with world-class cross-disciplinary teams on multiple silicon projects aimed at driving more integration, lower power, and mixed signal architectures for both space and ground infrastructures. As an IC Layout Engineer, you'll be an integral part of the IC design team, leading the layout discipline at the technical level and collaborating with RFIC/mixed signal designers on full chip layout of custom analog and RFIC designs.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced node IC layouts (22nm and below) and high-frequency circuits up to 50GHz. You'll be responsible for critical tasks including chip floor planning, power and ground distribution strategies, and working closely with packaging engineers on pad locations. The position requires expertise in custom RF and analog circuit block layout, with particular attention to matching and minimizing parasitic capacitance.

Benefits include comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, 401(k) retirement plan, stock options, ESPP, paid parental leave, and 3 weeks of vacation. The company offers a dynamic environment where you'll be contributing to SpaceX's ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars while working on practical applications through the Starlink program.
