Description For Software Engineer 3rd line support

Spektrum is seeking a Software Engineer for 3rd line support to join their team in The Hague, Netherlands. This role involves maintaining JISR application services built on a common application framework, including HMART SD, HMART OM, NABIS, AOSS, and NATO Release Server. The position requires expertise in C#, JavaScript, ASP.NET, and .NET Core, with a focus on full software maintenance life-cycle activities.

The successful candidate will work in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning and delivering various outputs including briefings, reports, designs, and specifications. They will primarily work at NCI Agency facilities in The Hague, with some potential for remote work.

Key responsibilities include performing 3rd level maintenance on application services, coding, testing, and documentation. The role demands strong skills in web development, database management, and continuous integration using tools like GitHub and Microsoft DevOps.

Essential qualifications include expert knowledge in C# and JavaScript, experience with relational databases, proficiency in XML technologies, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of recent experience in relevant technologies and possess a valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer 3rd line support

  • Perform maintenance activities (3rd level) on JISR application services
  • Carry out full software maintenance life-cycle, including coding, testing, and documentation
  • Work using an Agile and iterative approach with multiple sprints
  • Participate in sprint planning meetings
  • Deliver briefings, reports, designs, and specifications
  • Peer review deliverables within the deliverable cycle

Requirements For Software Engineer 3rd line support

JavaScript
  • Expert knowledge of C#, JavaScript, rich web applications, and ASP.NET
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft .NET Core
  • Expertise in creating and configuring web solutions
  • Recent experience (within the past 5 years) in User Experience (UX) design in C# and JavaScript
  • Experience in working with relational databases, e.g. MS SQL Server
  • Experience in using source control systems (GitHub)
  • Experience in using continuous integration solutions Microsoft DevOps (Azure DevOps Services)
  • Proficiency in XML, including creating, parsing, and manipulating XML documents
  • Very good spoken and written English communication and presentation skills
  • Recent experience in JavaScript development (within the past 5 years)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance
