Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Risk/Fraud

Step is seeking an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join their team and focus on Risk and Fraud detection. This role involves building and deploying ML models to enhance the company's Risk and Fraud detection systems, protecting both Step and its customers from financial loss. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Data Science or ML Engineering, along with a graduate degree in a relevant technical field.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models for Risk and Fraud detection
• Leading technical efforts and shaping the team's strategy in the Risk/Fraud area
• Using SQL for efficient data manipulation and preparation for model development
• Writing production-grade code to deliver robust machine learning solutions
• Applying statistics to guide experiments and evaluate model performance
• Partnering with the Operations Team to respond to rapidly evolving events

The ideal candidate should have:

• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Excellent data analysis skills
• Experience in developing and deploying machine learning models
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience in financial systems (lending or risk/fraud) is a plus
