SWATX is seeking an AWS Cloud & Systems Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions across AWS and Nutanix platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, operating systems, and hybrid environments. They will be responsible for managing AWS workloads, implementing backup strategies, automating infrastructure deployment, and ensuring security compliance. The position requires 3+ years of AWS experience and offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while mentoring junior engineers. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic infrastructure planning, making it ideal for engineers passionate about cloud architecture and system reliability.
Responsibilities For AWS Cloud & System Engineer - Preferably Syrian
- Architect and support AWS workloads including RDS, Aurora, and EC2-hosted databases
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Optimize AWS resource utilization and costs
- Automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Administer Linux and Windows EC2 instances
- Support Nutanix-based on-prem infrastructure
- Design and maintain hybrid cloud solutions
- Implement security best practices
- Set up centralized backup strategies
- Collaborate with engineering, compliance, and DevOps teams
- Mentor junior engineers
Requirements For AWS Cloud & System Engineer - Preferably Syrian
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure
- 1+ year of experience managing Nutanix environments (AHV, Prism Central, AOS)
- Solid knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration
- Proficient with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC tools
- Understanding of cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, and security compliance
- Familiarity with backup and DR tools, such as AWS Backup, Veeam, or Nutanix native tools
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional (preferred)
- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP-MCI or NCP-DS) (preferred)
- Terraform Associate (HashiCorp), Ansible or equivalent (preferred)
- Microsoft or Linux server certification is a plus
