Tesla's Chassis Systems Team is seeking a Brake Software Integration Engineer for the Tesla Semi. This role involves generating vehicle level and brake system software requirements, collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and implementing features into production. The position is critical for stable longitudinal and lateral controls, providing highly available braking functions for autonomy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning brake system components, firmware, and feature roadmaps for Tesla Semi
- Defining system and component level software requirements and test criteria
- Implementing interfaces, prototyping vehicle software, and testing in-vehicle
- Investigating improvements in latency, accuracy, control smoothness, uptime, and reliability
- Performing safety analyses and ensuring compliance
- Leading firmware development and release readiness reviews
The ideal candidate should have:
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant experience in brake systems, chassis systems, or supplier management
- Experience with networked micro-controllers and vehicle networking protocols
- Knowledge of version control and continuous integration
- Experience in developing safety-critical software
