Description For Diagnostic Engineer, Powertrain

Tesla is seeking a highly skilled Drivetrain Diagnostics Engineer to join their Powertrain Service Engineering team. As a key member, you will be responsible for developing software tools and methods to diagnose and repair complex drivetrain systems. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve drivetrain-related issues, and develop innovative solutions to improve vehicle diagnosability, performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, validating, and maintaining software tools for drivetrain diagnostics and repair
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve drivetrain issues
  • Defining and implementing on-board diagnostic methodologies
  • Developing troubleshooting techniques for service personnel
  • Conducting large-scale data analyses to identify trends
  • Proposing product improvements to increase reliability and customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in powertrain engineering or diagnostics
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python
  • Experience with vehicle data analysis
  • Knowledge of drivetrain technologies and automotive communication protocols
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
