Description For Electronics Integration Engineer, Chassis, Semi

Tesla is seeking an Electronics Integration Engineer for Chassis and Semi systems to join their innovative team. This role involves pushing the boundaries of Chassis systems and Chassis actuation, working alongside creative and resourceful Designers and Engineers in a lean and agile environment.

The engineer will be responsible for full-system design, from defining technical requirements to production design release and launch across all Tesla programs. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Defining technical systems for world-class chassis systems
  2. Collaborating with suppliers and internal teams throughout the product cycle
  3. Developing test procedures and supporting rigorous testing
  4. Maintaining product development documentation
  5. Designing and building prototypes of electronic designs
  6. Focusing on improving system performance, cost, quality, and efficiency

The ideal candidate should be a first principles, physics-based thinker with excellent problem-solving skills, technical aptitude, and creativity. They should have a strong understanding of mechatronics, actuation, and sensing systems, as well as experience with automotive digital communications protocols and common communication protocols.

Responsibilities For Electronics Integration Engineer, Chassis, Semi

  • Define technical systems to enable development of world-class chassis systems

Requirements For Electronics Integration Engineer, Chassis, Semi

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of work experience as Electrical Integration/Mechatronics engineer, preferably in safety critical systems
  • Understanding of mechatronics actuation and sensing, including analog and digital sensors, motor controls, inverter design, BLDC design, automotive digital communications protocols, steering, braking and suspension systems
  • Experience with common communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, EtherNet)
  • Experience with MATLAB, SimuLink, Python and SPICE for analysis, modeling, and simulations
  • Experience with technical documentation in at least 1 full lifecycle vehicle programs to include DVP&R and DFMEA is desired
