Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their Cell Prototyping team in Fremont, California. This role is crucial for the development and prototyping of lithium-ion cells, with a focus on pilot-scale processes and operations. The position involves working with cutting-edge battery technology and requires expertise in cell manufacturing processes. As a key member of a cross-functional product development team, you'll be responsible for electrode manufacturing, quality control, and process optimization. Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Cell Prototyping
- Manage electrode manufacturing processes: mixing, coating, pressing, slitting
- Operate pilot-scale equipment and follow SOP
- Handle in-process quality check (IPQC)
- Conduct coin cell or pouch cell fabrication
- Perform mechanical and electrical testing metrologies
- Document analysis data using travelers and process documents
- Assist in process parameters optimization
- Troubleshoot process and operation issues
Requirements For Engineering Technician, Cell Prototyping
- Experience operating pilot-scale equipment
- Experience working in dry room and/or clean room environment
- Experience with air-sensitive material and hazardous chemicals
- Excellent attention to details
- Experience in cell manufacturing line and roll to roll process (preferred)
- Great communication skills and teamwork
- Working knowledge of Windows and MS office
