Tesla's Cell Quality & Field Reliability team, part of the Cell Engineering organization, is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their dynamic team at Gigafactory Nevada. This role is crucial in conducting failure analysis investigations and ensuring product quality and safety. Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Quality & Reliability, Cell Engineering
- Support routine Cell Quality activities at Gigafactory Nevada
- Assist in identification and resolution of manufacturing and design issues
- Support incoming quality tasks to ensure manufacturing capability and product reliability
- Manage non-conforming cell material flow and material disposition
- Utilize specialized lab equipment for failure analysis procedures
- Participate in audits of Tesla and supplier systems
- Work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and research teams
- Lead continuous improvement and training activities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide actionable feedback
Requirements For Engineering Technician, Quality & Reliability, Cell Engineering
- Strong motivation to learn advanced physical, electrochemical, and thermodynamic theory
- Extremely detail-oriented with exceptional documentation and organization skills
- Ability to quickly learn and use technological tools
- Hands on experience inspecting and disassembling small components
- Knowledge of basic physics, chemistry, and electrical theory
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift and sort parts of up to 40 pounds
- Willing to work long hours and weekends on short notice
